I shot all this footage in 24pA and captured it in FCP 5 using 24p pulldown so that I can edit on a 23.98 timeline. That works fine. But I have a few clips that are 24p (29.97). I would like to use this footage along side the 24pA footage, possibly editing it together with that footage on the 23.98 timeline. Is this possible?
I've never used Cinema Tools and opened that up. Opened the 29.97 footage in Cinema Tools and clicked the Conform button. Back to FCP and it seemed to convert (conform) it to 23.98fps. The number had changed. So I dragged it over to the 23.98 timeline, noticed that I didn't have to render it like before when it was 29.97, and played it. Jerky. Stroby. Kind of watchable. Not really actually.
Is there a better way to do this? Or can I NOT edit 29.97 footage on a 23.98 timeline at all?
