Use P2 cards in devices that record to PCMCIA hard drives?

Can one use P2 cards in devices that record to PCMCIA hard drives? I'm thinking you can't, as you need the P2 drivers installed to use them as hard drives in Windows, but then again, Windows isn't exactly a marvel of modern technology...so maybe it's possible...

I ran across this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=318309&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation

It is a portable audio recorder that is capable of recording to compact flash cards or PCMCIA hard drives. It would be handy to use my extra P2 card to record audio, and offload to my laptop in the same way as I do with the HVX...

thats a hella expensive PCMCIA hard drive, Im not exactly sure why you would want to subject your P2 card to that? Spend the $50 - $75 and get the extra card. I wouldnt chance it.

Ya, that was my first thought as well. Just thought I'd check to see if someone had tried it. If I could confirm it works, it really would be handy to use P2. But I'm certainly not going to experiment on my $600 cards...
