USB capture devices (for a laptop)

has anyone had any luck with USB or laptop express card capture devices compatibility? i am anxious to purchase a rca, s-video, RF or hdmi capture device/card (im sure there isnt one that does all of those but just to give an idea of what would be ideal).

i would be stoked if one was highly compatible with Premiere, but if there isnt one... any experience with one that works well with its own software?

i found a bunch on newegg & tiger direct, i just dont recognize many brands and i would be bummed to buy one only to find out its crappy, haha.

If firewire would work, the best capture device I know of for SD, from either S-Video or composite, is a cheap miniDV camcorder that has DV pass-thru capability. You can pick up one up used, for a song, on eBay.
