Hi guys,

im am in the middle of cutting up some audition footage... and basically i have been saving it now and then and just overwriting the previous copy (error)..
I have about 40 clips of peoples auditions and basically for some reason, some of the clips has seemed to gained new clip names etc and basically dont correspond with what they should be..i even have a clip from another project which seems to have replaced one of the clips.... what may have caused this and is there any way of regaining the work i have previous to this?? i know it sounds vague but i am in a hurry and stressing!

At the moment it looks like i am going to have to re-capture the clips that i am missing which will take a long time!

Any help would be great!

Tom

Your project file may have become corrupted, which is why, as you recognize, you need to save copies of your project periodically. Check your autovault to see if FCP has been saving copies of the project file automatically. By default, autosave files are stored in the following location:/Users/username/Documents/Final Cut Pro Documents/Autosave Vault/
