Urgent: Nice Idea wanted for Studio

Hi Guys,

We are searching a Idea for some shots on a studio.

Here some information:

Band:

Singer: A Blond girl
Behind her: 3 Guys (Drums, Guitar and Bass)
The Studio size: 9x6.6m

Style: Pop

Equipments: 7D, A lot of Lights Equipments there. The Guy has really a big range of lights.

We do not want to use Greenscreen on this video. But we are searching a nice Idea to reach a very cool look.

Please let us know very soon. Pics are welcome.

Shooting would be on Saturday

I've done tons of music videos, lots of fun!

Herewith some random thoughts:


How about the Book of Eli look? The 7D is great for that.
(shoot to pop the fleshtones in post, let the band wear blues and pastel variations).

Use a big fan and simulate apocalyptic windy conditions - chuck rubbish in front of the fan.

Or

Just focus the cam on the lead singer and slowly zoom in/out. Use lights to simulate time passing. like it's flowing between day and night. (Not cool for the rest of the band though).

Do you have any tracking/jibbing/seadicam available? Makes a huge difference.


Have your lead singer walk on a treadmill with wind blowing her hair. The 'going nowhere' vibe. Play with lights to simulate time of day.

Attach the cam to the kick drum so you can see the pad hit the vellum thingie (add a wiggle in post). Do the same for the snare and cymbals.

DoF rack between the gap of the high hat and someone/something in the background.

Go really tight on the singer's lips, eyes, nape of neck.

Suspend the entire band upside down and shoot it as if they were the right side up.
(Looks great in the end but you can only shoot for short periods of time or your band will be red faced for the rest of their lives - haha).

wow it's everything intresting.. I'm translating your post. Some questions:

1) How does the Book of Eli Look look for? I have seem only the trailler. Could you show me what you exactly have in mind?

2) shoot to pop the fleshtones in post? What do you mean here?
