URGENT: Need pointers to fix edge pixelation issue of SD footage

Using old memorabilia footage for my "AGANST ALL ODDS, THE MAKING OF DEUCE OF SPADES" docu, the footage is SD 480X704 size, while the project is 1920X1080. I am of course noticing pixelation in the edges and wanting to see if I can lessen it. I have been researching software and pluggins that can up-res or smoothe edges but not sure which will give best results. Can anyone here point me in the right direction. A plugin that works with AE or Vegas would work fine for me, or a stand alone software, nothing too pricey please, I am just a micro-indie self contained filmmaker ;) ...

I am on deadline, and stressing, any prompt help would be very appreciated!!! THANKS!!

Confused a bit? You mean you just see the pixelation on the edges of the frame, or do you mean the pixelation caused by expanding the image to fill the HD frame? I've never found much that could fix that without seriously softening it.

As paulers said if you're trying to blow up SD to HD you will see pixelation. Why not just postage stamp the original footage?

You can try Magic Bullet Frames, it will up res the footage. It's a decent program, I've used it several times for the same sort of thing you're working on. It helped a lot, but it will never be as sharp as real hd footage. Better then nothing though.

I use red giants magic bullet "instant HD" for up-ressing sd footage. Using it again in a project right now in fact
