urgent!! letterbox

hi, I have an urgent question.
I have a 16:9 footages, and I need to present my work on regular TV. I don't want to show squeezed footages so I need to create letterbox for them.
I use Premiere Pro 1.5 and can I create letterboxes with PP1.5?
or any free softwares?

Just stat a new project in PPro, and make it 16:9 instead or 4:3.

Bada Bing-Bada Boom, your good to go.

you will need to scale your footage. you will need to open your footage in a 1:33 sequence. and scale the height of your 16:9 footage down to 75. this will correct the aspect ratio so that it looks normal.

in premiere you can do this by opening the effects controls, then open Motion, then open scale, then uncheck UNIFORM SCALE, then just chage the height to 75.

you must make sure your new sequence is a 1:33 .9 pixel aspect ratio first. so if you have been working in a 16:9 comp to edit, you will need to render it out then bring it back into a 1:33 sequence. im not sure i premiere 1.5 will let you change the sequence aspetc ratio.
