**URGENT HELP** Vegas Cutting

Hi,

I'm cutting a ceremony recording (multicamera/DSLR) all sound is synced via plural eyes, 3 video tracks... and my biggest timekiller is when i need a portion of the recording cut out, and i end up with a blank field and then i need to bring it together.... ALL MANUALLY, is there a shortcut or a way to do this easily??

DETAILED:

there is a long reading of 7 minutes, i need 4 minutes of it in the middle out:

ACTUAL CLIP: XXXXXXX

CLIP AFTER CUT: XX_____X

now i have to bring it together and it takes forever bringing all the events after the blank/cut area....

much help wiill be appreciated,

wow... been cutting on vegas for years and did not know this. perhaps the most needed piece of info i will ever need ESP for cutting weddings. CLANG thanks a million!!!!!!!
 
Quite a few other options, too, but ripple edits are certainly the quickest and slickest. Just remember, powerful tools can do devastating things if you don't pay close attention to them.
 
Try right clicking on the clip to the right of the one you just deleted, then "select events to end". Now drag clip to left, all clips to end should move with it. If you have clips on different tracks, I suspect grouping them together first may allow you to drag clips on different tracks in unison
 
Glad to be of help. Autoripple is great, except:
- you only want it turned on some of the time, and it's easy to have it set wrongly and not notice
- sometimes it gets fooled by events with edges that are a frame or so out of alignment with other events in other tracks, unexpectedly moving (or not moving) the exception event
In both cases, you have to keep a careful eye on your project timeline...
