URGENT HELP NEEDED NOW!!

sorry for the caps, but i'm editing an entry to a contest right now and im finished but the damn thing WONT SAVE. i cant exit or all my hours of wokr will be gone. when i hit save, or save as i get General Error.
please help me!

I had that problem before. I had it exported. why can't it export? doesn't make sense!
could be corrupted saved files. get rid of those and name it something else. i dunno. just try it.

disk utility is a life saver. just an example for all you unix based users, i repaired all permissions and it allowed me to save.

well not the captured scratch. the files you name to autosave it.
SAVE FILES.
and you did disk repair and it worked? HA., nice!

it takes a lot for me to back up my entire 160 gig hdd... and thats just what im doing right now.

WHOA just as I was replying to this post, a shade came down on my screen and forced me to RESTART! and my FCP crashed at least 7 times before that. What's going on? I deleted the fcp pref. file to see if that would do the trick but I think I might made something bad.

How did you repair permissions while fcp was still open ?
Your fcp disabled the save function right ? I've had that happen to me before but - how then did u go about repairing permissions without force quitting fcp ?

I THOUGHT IT WOULD FORCE QUIT TOO! i used expose to get to the desktop and open my hdd and utitlitys. i just repaired permissions without closing fcp4 or restarting. i could save again. i think something is wrong with 10.3.5, not permenantly though guys. if you recently upgraded to 10.3.5, repair permissions, immediatly. this hopefully should clear up everything.
