Hey, I have a short film that was accepted to a film festival. In order for it to play, it has to be converted to BetaSP. To convert it to BetaSP, I have to give the production company a MiniDV. The short film was shot on the HVX200 in 720P.
I've created an SD sequence and nested the HD sequence into the timeline. I've rendered it and tried printing to tape. This has worked before, but I can't get it to work now. I'll hear the audio, but the video doesn't play. It just leaves a still image on the screen.
Here are my sequence settings:
HD Sequence Settings
Frame Size - 960/720
Aspect Ratio - HD(960x720)(16x9)
Pixel Aspect Ratio - HD(960x720)
Editing Timebase - 59.94
Quicktime Video Settings Compressor - DVCProHD 720p60
Audio Settings - Rate: 48KkHz, Depth: 16 bit, Config: Channel Grouped
SD Sequence Settings
Frame Size - 720x480
Aspect Ratio - NTSC DV (3:2)
Pixel Aspect Ratio - NTSC - CCIR 601/DV (720x480)
Anamorphic 16x9 box is checked
Editing Timebase - 59.94
Quicktime Video Settings Compressor - DV/DVCPro - NTSC
Audio Settings - Rate: 48kHz, Depth: 16 bit, Config: Channel Grouped
I have nested HD Sequences in SD Sequences before and didn't have a problem sending them to a miniDV tape. The difference with those was that it was a 23.98 timebase timeline, but this one was 59.94, and if I drop it into a 23.98 timeline, it says that I cannot nest sequences with different timebases. Please let me know if you guys know what I am doing wrong. We were given a very short window to get our films converted. I was notified the other day that my film was accepted and I've been trying to figure this out, but the production company wants the miniDV tape by tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
