Urgent - Having Problems Making Cd Audio Be Stereo In Project

Okay, so I'm having an incredible amount of problems with my project... I need to output to digibeta so I took my harddrive to the production house to trasfer it and through the scopes we see that all of the audio that I extracted from my cd is playing through as MONO in my project and i have a music video in my project at the end of the timeline that plays in STEREO... when i play the audio from my browser in my viewer, it plays in STEREO, but when i play it in my timeline, it plays in MONO... there's 2 tracks to the audio and they are hard panned left and right, so i have no idea why this is happening...

the only way i was able to discover this is by bringing it to the production house and looking on their scope... is there any way to check this in my fcp project??? AND HOW THE HELL DO I FIX THIS?? It's killing me! And no one at the production house can figure out why this is happening, and i've gone back n forth with them 3 times already thinking that i've fixed the problem. I have to have all of the music in my project be STEREO. Thanks

Since I don't know how to fix this because you say everything "Is Panned Properly".... here is a desperation fix I've used when this happened to me.

(This is going to sound really retarded.)
But do this-
Open your project in FCP. Listen to the music in the time line. If it still is not stereo, (you already know it won't be,) go to "Tools"... click on Audio Mixer. If it is Mono... both sides, left and right will be reading the same. (I mean mirror image.) Stereo should show left right differences in the mix... plus you should be able to hear it.

Time IS a factor. Just reload the Audio again on new tracks... leave the original audio in place to line up the new tracks to, and then disable the old now mono tracks.)

Listen and look at to the new tracks in Audio Mixer. If the new tracks are now in stereo, (they should be, at least they were for me,).... (You will see the left right differences in Audio Mixer too,) mix that puppy down before it changes. (and it probably will.)

I just went through this and haven't had the time to figure it out. But this worked for me. I'm a musician doing a live MultiMedia Show, performing with backing audio and video ... Stereo is a must! I'm using the new Final Cut Studio. I Love it... but I never had this problem before. The old FCP never did this.

I really hope this helps.

What about highlighting them then make them a stereo pair. Then double click the new stereo pair and make sure the pan is set to zero.

Well? Did you get the project done? Most importantly... what's the fix? Did you figure out what is causing the problem? I've been waiting to hear... what worked?
