Urgent DVDSP help needed please! Menu screen won't work!

Long story short: I put together a DVD for a client back in June. everything was fine.

Now they wanted to make some edits to the video. So I made the edits in FCP, re-exported the new m2v, thinking that I would use the same DVDSP file and just exchange the m2v file (no audio). BUt the DVDSP file won't open. It says something like a supported graphics file no longer available or something... Fine, I decided to make a new DVDSP file, but here is the real problem: I CAN'T EDIT THE MENU SCREEN!!! IT SHOWS UP AS ALL WHITE ON MY VIEWER (even though my default background colour is dark grey). Even though if say I put a matte on it, the little menu screen on the graphical on the left updates, but my viewer won't... same thing as I try to edit it some more like adding a button. Thinking maybe it is a viewer issue, I simulate it and it shows me what I see in the viewer.

I opened some of my other older projects. They look fine but if I add a new menu, same thing - all white and un-editable.

HELP HELP HELP PLEASE!

Thanks

recently the only major update I did with my computer is installing Adobe CS5.5.

Here is the error msg:

******filename and location*****no longer uses a supported graphic format. You must update the asset to a supported format before it can be used in this project.

thx

Probably something to do with a Photoshop file if you're using one in your menu. Try opening and resaving that asset in Photoshop.

Yes the error msg is, as I have found out after some testing, a result of a incompatible still image file. Either PNG or JPG or TIFF (I don't use PSD in my DVDSP projects)

But this doesn't explain my real problem, the menu screen refuses to be edited. Though I have to think the 2 issues are related.

My immediate crisis is solved by using the play button as the whole entire menu screen. Thank god I only need the play button. It looks lame but it will do for now. But I really do wish to solve this issue. Thanks
