URGENT. DVC 50 Render issues...

I'm cutting a job for Atlantic Records for one of thier biggest artists. We shot on 24pa, DVC 50, HVX 200. Everything downloaded fine. The problem is when I create a second layer, it requests a green render. This bugs the crap out of me as I've edited dvc 50 many times without having this render requirement.

My sequence settings are 23.98, dvc 50 ntcs, 720x480, 601, 3:2. I'm editing on a macbook pro, 2.0 ghz, 2 gig ram on a firmtek RAID 1 (seagate SATA)2 bay E SATA setup.

No render requirements as a single track.

What gives?

Any help ASAP is appreciated as I meet with the client tomorrow.

You are working with multiple streams now. Not just one layer...one stream. But two layers, both visible at the same time...two streams. This may require a render, depending on the drive speed of your media drives. A two drive RAID 1 might not be good enough for two streams of video without needing to render.
