anyone know anything about flex files and how to batch capture with them using cinema tools? I don't even know what flex files are. Thank you very much.

Ah to my knowledge flex files are Macromedia (Flash) derived things. Not really meant for editing as far as I know, meant more for web development. But perhaps there's another application to the builder that I'm not aware of.

cheers.

wrong flex files - flex files are the files that correlate the timecode on your telecined tapes to the keykodes on the film - it is how you conform and match back from your EDL to your actual film, so that the edit you created in FCP, Avid, etc. can be recreated by the negative cutter with the actual celluloid film.

Crack open that Cinema Tools manual, buddy!

thanks guys. in my defense, i'm asking this question for my friend who's an assistant editor on someone's project. i assumed if he was asking me, it's because he couldn't find it in the manual. hmmm....that excuse sounds lame. lame but true. thanks again.
