URGENT!! audio in dv materials

Hi all!

I make a little movie (made by my dvx). In Premiere timeline I would like to add a sound file (44khz).

As I play the timeline materials, this sound sounds terrible (slowing down sometimes or makes clicking sound)

1. If I export to DVD, how must I add the file?

2. If I would like to export as movie, how should I add the file, what codec I should use to export it, if after I make divx movie?

Thank you!

I have only 1 or 2 hours to finish them.

Caitya,
You probably need to sort out the audio strangeness before exporting. What sort of sound file is it? Is it a 44.1khz PCM WAV file or some other format? Have you rendered your timeline? If not, hit 'ENTER' and let PPro render the timeline. It should playback fairly smoothly unless you have a performance issue on your PC.

You say you hear a clicking sound. This is typically the sound you get when a digital audio signal is clipped. If this is in the original audio file, then there may not be much you can do about it without using some other audio software to improve it. This could also be due to clipping in PPro itself has it mixes the audio tracks together. Bring up the audio mixer and try lowering the levels to see if the clipping clears up.

Once your audio file is on the timeline (and not muted), it will be exported along with the rest of the timeline when you export directly to DVD or export it as a movie in some other form. The codec used will depend on the format you're exporting to.

Hope this helps,
Dan
