I got a cheap Libec tripod right now and got cash for a better one. I had a good history with a Libec but heard good reviews for Manfrotto. (and bad) Do tell your opinion and help this fellow DVXuser make the right choice

you probally would have more feedback in the "hardware" section but I'm currently using the 503 and think its great for a dvx, and I use it with: Dvx100a, Ana 16x9, Mattebox w/flags, mic, onboard 7"monitor (above the mic), and 16x9 eyepeice, so i'm sure you'll be happy with the 503.

normally I would go to the hardware section but how many tripod threads have been opened there. So without bothering anyone else, Cafe DVX alas is my savior

Ok, so I have no complaints over the 503 head. Ok, I admit tripods arent my cream of the crop but when looking for legs, what should I be looking for? what should I ask myself?

I looked for versatility in height and stability. But that's what my concerns were. What types of things do you plan to shoot? Are you going to be hiking with the thing, or just shooting short films in your living room?

Well the one thing I noticed the difference is the the leg spreader on the Libec. Will that add stability better than the Manfrotto? Or should I consider more on the better quality 503 head?
