Hey gang!
I went ahead and got PHOTOZOOMPRO to emulate Disjectas workflow and I have to say I am very impressed with the results. However, instead of considering my project to be 5 minute long footage, PREMIERE seems to be treating my project like 8,000 TIFF files. I've even rendered out the files so I have single sequences but my computer/Premiere is STILL way too slow.
2.8mhz
9800 Pro Radeon
1gig ram
120gig hard drive
72 raid 10,000 RPM hard drive (admittedly, I did not include this hard drive set up in my workflow for this project. I'm an idiot)
I am not sure if its just the nature of the beast/this program? Because it works on the principle of exported TIFF frames from your project into PHOTOZOOM PRO, then EXPORTED TIFF frames from PHOTOZOOM PROM to Hard drive, then Imported TIFF frames into Premiere 1.5.
I nested the sequences into other sequences so they are treated as 1 single clip then rendered. But, my computer is still not liking this very much. Normally, a 5 minute clip moves like butter. But this entire project is sluggish.
I have one master clip, I am in the processes of cutting between shots so I can re-edit this to music, but literally, after I make a cut, it takes about 15 seconds before I get the arrow to move my edit marker to the next point.
I think I've pretty much given all the pertinent info. If ive forgotten anything, please ask.
If anyone has a workflow suggestion to help me speed this process up, by all means, I am all ears! Maybe (and I didnt want to do this because it seemed unneccessary and time consuming) if I EXPORTED the sequences as individual AVI files then reimported them to edit?
Any ideas?
Thanks again gang!
Rick
UPDATE: ALSO, this is so sluggish I am having a hard time saving the project. Many times it crashes as Im saving it with an error telling me something occurred during the save and I need to use the SAVE AS feature and send off to another location. When this happens, I need to reboot and often lost a good bit of work in the process.
