I'm sure this has been posted many times, so if you could post a link to the topics or just tell me it would be appreciated.

I am wondering what the best way is to upload my miniDV footage from the 100b onto my computer for editing.

What specs sould I have for my computer in order to be successful?

Any comments or links would be helpful.

Bump. Sorry, I know it's a dumb question. I have to use a firewire. Is it any deeper than that? Alos, isn't there some sort of hardware where you put the actual miniDV tape in to and upload it that way? Anyone have any info on that? Which is better? Thanks.

If you have firewire connector and an editing program or a program to capture the video then just put the MiniDV tape back into the DVX or ideally into a cheaper priced camera. There are also MiniDV decks you can use but they usually start at $1200
Cheaper cameras - ideally support timecode (the cheap Panasonics do not) This allows you to log and capture. s-video not bad as well when going out to video monitor
