Upgrading to Zaxcom

Greetings to all.

I really enjoy reading this site and thank all of you collectively for your insight. Here is my situation... I own four wireless transmitter/receiver sets, each with "DPA 4061 Miniature Microphone" lavalier. I want to upgrade to four Zaxcom TRX 900 / RX 900 sets. My question is , can I use the DPA 4061 with the Zaxcom? My research indicates that the Zaxcom uses 3 volts and the matching DPA is the DPA 4063 - the low voltage version of the DPA 4061. I have not been able to find any kind of an adapter plug to adjust for the voltage. Is there any way to use the DPA 4061 on the Zaxcom or am I going to have to further deplete my cookie jar to buy four DPA 4063?

Thanks for your help.

My advice to you would be to speak with DPA directly

Dan,

I will check with Shane. Thanks for the contact info. By the way, thanks for your outstanding articles. However, your How to shoot a pilot article cost me 6K (HPX-170 and P2 crds), your Choosing the right microphone cost me 5K ( 3 mics) and your Lav article cost me 2K (4 DPAs and adapters, etc, etc.). Pleeeaaasee do not write an article about how great the Zaxcom DIVAs or FUSIONs perform!

Kidding aside, thank you for saving me thousands by buying the right equipment the first time.

Hi Steve:

Very cool. Glad you find the articles to be helpful. Sounds as if you buy the good stuff, very nice. You will love your Zaxcoms, they are really great too.

Enjoy!

Steve, check with DPA to be sure, but the only mic I've heard about that has problems with Zaxcom Tx/Rx's is the COS-11, but I have a COS-11 with mine (Goldline, not 900's) and haven't had any problems with it. Generally, the B6 seems to be the lav of choice with Zaxcom.
