upgrading to HD

Before I upgrade to FCP HD, I read the system req's on the apple site and it mentioned that MAC OS X 10.3.2 or later is preferred. I still have 10.2.8 until "Tiger" comes out next year. Can I still download HD now? Or should I just wait? I am using a 1.8 MAC G5.

you can download it, but it will tell you that it is not compatible with 10.2.8

You will have to upgrade, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to wait. You just have to decide which is more important: having the latest OS when it comes out (and it will be pretty cool), or having HD now. If not upgrading to HD is holding you back creatively, you should probably upgrade now. It's better to progress as an artist that to progress as an Apple geek. ;D

ok I think I will upgrade my OS now because I am hearing it could be mid 2005 when Tiger comes out (after they fix the bugs and all)
