Upgrading laptop to Refurbished MacBook Pro

I have a two-and-a-half-year old HP laptop, whose hard drive stopped working the other day. Time to upgrade, and a MBP is probably the best choice, for obvious reasons. My HP can't even handle my 7D's footage. I need something that can.

What do you think of this refurb:

I want to have a Mac that can run all the programs in the Final Cut Suite, Adobe Production CS5 (After Effects, etc.), and Adobe Design CS5 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, etc.) as well as be able to play from-camera H.264 7D files without it chugging.

Do you think that refurb will be able to do that? Any comments, suggestions, considerations?

Sorry, but that laptop is no longer avaiable; I just bought it! j/k :) It looks like a sweet machine.

FWIW... PowerMax sells used Macs and gets high praise on ResellerRatings.com.

Cool site. The MBP's there are mostly cheaper than the refurb I'm eying ($1,650).

I'm mostly worried about processor speed with that refurb. Is 2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, in tandem with the graphics cards and 4GB ram, enough to do the above I listed? I hear that the i3/i5/i7 processors are leagues better than dual-core processor systems, but I don't know if I'm thinking too hard. I'm not up to speed on the latest computer technology.
