upgrading from Intel I7 960 to I7 3930k?

i have a 3.2ghz i7 960 along with 24gb ddr3 and wondering if upgrading to the 3930k with its 6 cores or 12 threads was worth it. Im thinking with the added 4 cores and the sata3 support (i have ssd) amd quad memory channel with the new mobo will make a great difference with my sony vegas/ae editing.

Worth the jump or better to wait it out more?

Im hoping it would speed up previewing of 1080p projects in vegas. Also faster rendering times. This for AE as well. Just overall faster everything with my three screen setup.

i have 3 screens with the radeon hd 6800
