Upgrade Questions

I wish to upgrade my FCP to 5.1.4 so that I may enjoy the improved P2 workflow that that version provides. I currently run FCP 4.5 but have 5.1 discs (that I obtained from Apple's nice upgrade offer last year) ready to install. My computer is a G5 tower, single 1.8Ghz PowerPC, 3GB memory running OS 10.4.11. Getting to the place I want to be depends on the answers to several questions:

1) may I upgrade from FCP 4.5 to 5.1 while in the middle of a current project (footage logged and captured but no editing started yet)?
2) are there any known problems with FCP 5.1 and higher and OS 10.4.11 and/or PowerPC?
3) can I upgrade for free from 5.1 to 5.1.4?

You can upgrade considering you haven't started editing. Even if you did, you can make a xml file of your project before you upgrade. When you open that old file in a newer version of fcp, it will ask you if you want optimize the project to the newer version of fcp. No known problems that I know of, unless you're running leopard and alot of 3rd party plugins. I believe it a free upgrade to 5.1.4 from 5.1.
