upgrade question

I have an intel based macbook Pro... and I have Final Cut studio 1 on my computer now I want to upgrade to FCS3 but I cant for the life of me find my discs or serial( I have moved like 4 times back and forth to and from college) prob. lost it... can I still upgrade since it is already on my computer

If you go to the "About Final Cut Pro" command under the Final Cut Pro menu in the version of FCP you have, it should display your serial number. If you have an educational version of the software, you should be aware that it is not upgradeable. In that case, you would need to get the full version of FCS.
