I only wish my status was based on a deep body of wisdom, but in truth, I just try and sometimes, I just want to have fun!

to answer your qeustion: you get upgraded as your post count rises.

You will become a Platinum member when your posts reach 501 young grasshopper.

I was ahead of Barry once. Barry, however, has the energy and stamina of ten men and the technical knowledge to match (not to mention the typing speed of the Flash), so I was left in the dust over the summer . . .

What if your doctor tells you you're dying, that you shouldn't use up your remaining energy to write posts... and you were pretty close to Platinum anyway, and your ONE, DYING WISH is to be upgraded to an Honorary Platinum, like an Honorary Doctorate. Pathetic, I know. But can you appeal to the dvxuser gods for mercy? How about if you leave something in your will?
(PS: This is all hypothetical...I hope!)
