Upgrade current system or build from scratch

I am at a point where I need to either upgrade my edit pc or simply build a new one.

I am moving from Vegas to Premiere and would like to optimize for that scenario. I am working on a series with multi-cam sequences often with 6 - 7 cameras in a sequence with some of the footage in 4k. I would like decent real-time playback and also to speed up my renders.

Here's some basic specs on my current system:

Motherboard - ASUS Socket 1366/Intel X58/Quad SLI & Quad CrossFireX/SATA3.0&USB3.0/A&GbE/ATX Motherboard s SABERTOOTH X58
[h=1]Processor - Intel Core i7-950 3.06 GHz 8 MB Cache Socket LGA1366 Processor[/h] [h=1]RAM - Corsair Vengeance 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9)[/h] [h=1]Graphics Card - EVGA GeForce GTX650Ti Boost SuperClocked 2GB GDDR5 192bit, Dual-Link DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI,DP, SLI Ready Graphics Card[/h]

If I upgrade, I will be adding a SSD operating/software drive and likely upgrade all four of my other internal drives.

So I guess my question is this - could I get by with simply doubling my RAM, adding another matched graphic card (in sli), or possibly a new graphics card along with a new SSD & power supply or should I bit the bullet and build from scratch? I do have about 1 - 2k in my budget but would like to allocate less if possible.

Please let me know if I am missing something or neglecting to ask the right questions. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Best, Jeff

Yep...not surprising. Wishful thinking to limp along on the current spec.

Thank you

So here's what I ordered (i already have optical drives, data drives, case, etc.):

Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor $374.99
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler $24.75
Asus X99-A ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard $238.99
G.Skill Ripjaws Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory $134.99
Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $146.99
EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB SuperSC ACX 2.0+ Video Card $204.99

This should get the job done for a bit...
