updating my mac os x to 10.5.6?

i just got final cut studio and it says i have to have a mac os x 10.5.6 or higher to install. right now my comp says i have a 10.4.11 and ive clicked software update and nothing for this comes up. ive searched and found some higher updates but when i try to do them it says i have to already be on 10.5 to upgrade. so whats the best way for me to get to 10.5.6? anything i need to know before i do this?

Beware of 10.5.6 - I had that version and itunes was crashing and halfway through rendering I had issues (on Adobe Software) however version 10.5.8 is excellent - completely rock solid at the moment if it helps.

Maybe try emailing Apple about it?

This must be Studo 3, no such restriction on FCE2. Ran on 10.4.7 to 10.4.11 through 10.5.0, 10.5.4 10.5.6 (The one with the purple sticker on it - RETAIL) and the OEM drop in upgrade from the factory disks (10.5.0 factory pack).
