Updating Data between 2 FCP Systems

I was wondering for multiple editors who work on the same project in FCP, how do you keep making changes to projects without having to reconnect each time? My situation is my editor edits during the day on her G5, I edit at night at home on my powerbook, we each have our own 400GB firewire drive. But each time we open each other’s projects we have to reconnect. Would the simplest solution be to simply name and format each hard drive exactly the same to trick each computer that it’s the same hard drive? Any info much appreciated.

Yeah that would work. Or you could set up a SAN but that would cost you some money. I would just try the trick I don't see why it wouldn't work
