Updated video driver = half width raster on secondary monitor

I updated the drivers for my ATI Radeon Sapphire 4870. (Last update was almost a year ago) In high quality mode, PPro CS4 displays the video at one half width raster in the secondary monitor. Draft and Normal display as full width. The Windows desktop background displays full width also. It's only High Quality from within PPro CS4. Anyone run into something similar? I rolled back to a previous version of the driver until I figure this out. Couldn't find any obvious settings to adjust in either Catalyst or PPro. Thanks.

The question is, why update the drivers?

If there was nothing wrong with it in the first place, dont fix it. You just end up with problems

I will usually leave things alone if everything is working well. However, so many times forums discussing PPro will stress how important it is to keep your drivers up to date. It's no big deal really. I tried it, it didn't improve anything for me, so I rolled back to the previous version. I wasn't looking for any advice regarding updating.

My question was for someone who may have experienced a similar result when updating their ATI 4800 series driver and if there was a 'fix' for the half width raster effect that I experienced.

Thanks for the reply, though.
