Those are great! A glimpse into what it must be like to go to such a different place. I've wanted to go somewhere exotic, too, but only made it to Alabama. Still, there were huge language barriers and cultural differences to be overcome. ;D No one believe I was from the south because I literally could not understand what they were saying sometimes.

example: "sailor" in Alabama is actually "cellular"

Great shots. Would love to see more. :)

..is it just me, or is that "Colonel Sanders" from KFC in the bottom left hand corner of the top picture with the corn ice cream where it says "soft serve"!?

gee colonel.. you sure know how to make a guy happy.. just add corn to his ice cream. :P

One of my best friends is half-Thai and from his descriptions Thailand sounds like a pretty cool place. I have a friend in Spain and he says that similar butchered-English-shirts are all the rage there, too and I know they're popular in Japan. Did you get any durian or mangosteen there? I've heard they're great, but never tried either.

I have tried shrimp paste and fish sauce, though. I guess they're acquired tastes....but they were good mixed in curries.

Also, oddly enough, it looks like the corn ice cream is made by KFC (little logo in the bottom corner.)

wow funny. I like the last pic of the family on the bike and hows there's only one helment I think. I wonder who gets that helment?

Gillock, can you buy me a x-boy for 10bucks? How similar is it to the X-box? Cool pics man.

Thartley: I know what you mean. I was born and raised in Texas, but I lost my accent after moving to the west coast, where I was severly picked-on and called, Tex. Occassionally I have a relapse and a " y'all " will come out. People just stare.

iamloser: Yes, that is the Colonel. I have a small computer shop next to KFC. Never tried the "Cream Corn." Maybe because I didn't want to like it. :)

TC: Bad news. the Lekars jacket was sold. They have some "Playbay" (Playboy) jackets if anyone wants some.

Policar: Never tried durian, mainly because the smell alone will make you sick (A lot of Thai's hate it too.) I "might" have tried mangosteen. Sometimes you don't know the name of the food you're eating.

Bluespider: Trust me, nobody will be fighting over that helmet. Thai people aren't too concerned with death. They are more concerned with getting dark skin (which explains the umbrella). I telll my students, "If you're dead your skin gets VERY DARK (because everyone is cremated) and you will be very ugly. WEAR A HELMET!"

John Hudson: Thanks! I'm glad you and your wife enjoyed them. I will find more.

FYI: I have seen 6 people on 1 motorcycle, ...twice!

What a country...
I was there about two years ago after my trip to Tibet/Nepal/India.
I miss Ko Samet, tuk tuks, and cheap Pad Thai on the street.

A guy I know married a Thai girl and moved to Bangkok and bought a bar. About a month later he went down on his motorcycle and hit his head. Now all he does is sit home and watch porn, eat, and go out long enough to hook up with his mistresses while his wife runs the bar. (Y'know, that sounds a lot better than it really is) He is not the same guy.

Real funny, although I understand the non us rendition of Rest Room to be just as funny from the European point of view . . . we just call them TOILETS ;D

Jim Brennan: "...sounds a lot better than it really is" Most things in Thailand look and sound better than it really is. The Thai people are great at putting on a show, but things are REALLY bad behind the curtain.

Reminds me of Peru. I will be sure to take pictures of what my Wife's family calls "Chollo Taxis" or redneck taxis. I saw one last time but didn't get a picture of it, it was up Rich Lee's alley. It had a Picture of Jesus along with Marijuana Leaves and Coca Leaves proudly displayed.

You should see the roadside Quick lube businesses there too. Dig whole and you can change oil ;D

I don't know about you guys but that barbie looks like gravity kicked in for her. Aren't boobs supposed to be on her chest not the side of her ribs. ;)

It seems like youre having alot of fun in Thailand. Kan eye helped assisst u en eglish klass? Eye tink me eglish skell is goood. :)
