I as just looking around at drive and storage solution since the whole debate of moving onto one of the new HD cams anyway's I came across this site which may have been posted before ? ( I did a search ) here's a lot of info and samples of all the manufacturers players and a few of them state that the first burners will be $500 available early this summer while the players will start at $1000 and it also states the ability to upconvert the older discs to hd.

Well I will belive it when i see it. But I do think that the new intel g5 that they will show us at NAB will have a blue ray drive in it. I think that is a logical next step for the thecnolagy.
 
I think this year is a big year for everything from all the new camera's to storage solutions. + the new computers becoming available
