Unusual Recordings

[marlenedegrood]

So I've been reading some articles about people who are really into some serious nature recording. One group drilled a hole into a tree in some drought ridden country and recorded the sounds of the cells popping as they died, which then make up the rings in the tree. And this other guy who records stuff like the sounds a frozen lake makes when the ice is shifting and cracking. Really cool stuff. So I listened to this stuff whenever I find it and it's inspiring me to create background music that has some of the same eerie sounds. I've done several now but I won't bore you with much so I'm just posting a short piece from one of my creations using natural recorded sounds along with my midi keyboard and garageband.

Here's a segment http://www.stickypod.com/stickypod_upload/uploads/stormy.mov

Having fun doing it anyway.
