Unstable after 6 months.

I usuals work with 25 minute productions and edit for 4-6 month.

After that time the project file is so large it crashes all the time.

Is it possible to work in premiere with productions longer than a music video without it breaking down to pieces in the end? :Drogar-Mad(DBG):

Do you have the OS and program on one drive and the video files on another? If so, you may need to divide the project into mini-projects, to be combined prior to final output.

My specs:

Win7
Adobe production premium
3ds max
And hardware drivers.
No more programs.

8gb ram
Inte Quad core
Nvidia GTX470
3 HDDs
Drive:
1 Programs
2 Project and files
3 Video raw material.

Is mini projects the way to go?

I'm planning on getting Inte core i7 3ghz and 24gb kingstone 1600mhz ram..

Your problem might not be the size of the project as much as the size and complexity of your timeline. Before going the extreme with multiple mini projects, try breaking up your timline sequence into a number of shorter edit sequences. Then when done, simply drag and arrange those various sequences into a new sequence.

There is a bug with Adobe Premiere CS5 that makes project files grow to un-usable sizes. This bug is fixed in 5.0.2 . It's a new bug introduced with Premiere Pro CS5. It should not be in CS4.

Keep in mind if your project file size is getting to big for the older 32-bit versions of Premiere, you'll need to split up your work into multiple projects, and then combine at the end with final render.

I had the same issue with CS4 and it was resolved by doing what BVX suggested. Break your project up into pieces that have their own sequence. Take all of those sequences and place them into one timeline that you will export or Dynamic link to Encore. And a word to the wise, do not put any chapter marks into the smaller sequences, just the one main time line containing the smaller sequences. I ran into issues with chapter marks in a sequence that was later nested and it took a while before I figured out the problem.

Good Luck with the new workflow.
