Unlock LASTCLIP.txt ?

I have content folder and LASTCLIP.txt on my external and I can not drag it to the trash. How do I unlock and trash files?

Also How do you set-up FCP to import from external drive?

I have no trouble importing from the P2 store using IMPORT P2 function in FCP- all the clips show up in pop up window.

but when I try to import - the same way- with the CONTENTS and LASTCLIP.txt on the external (FW800)- no clips show up in the pop up window.

You don't have to unlock a file to trash it. Just push the option key (ALT) while you are emptying your trash.

One - don't trash the LastClip.txt unless you've backed it up first.
Two - right (or control) click on it, do a Get Info, and then unlock it from there

As for the import aspect, you probably just need to click on the volume button and then direct FCP to the volume (external drive) where the material is. Once you've click on the master folder for the card, that card's contents should load just fine in FCP window. I haven't played with the new FCP 5.1.2 interface though, so not sure if there's some minor differences in getting it to show up there. Perhaps someone else can chime in on that if there is any difference.

VaricamLife is correct, only actual P2 cards show up automatically. Everything else has to be pointed to manually in 5.1.2. That's because P2 devices such as the cards and the P2 Store show up as P2 volumes. Everything else mounts as regular hard drive volumes.
