Hey guys,
I am new to DVXuser and Vegas. I have used Adobe to edit with in the past so i am trying to forget what i know so i can move on and use Vegas. Unfortunately im still stuck on some of Adobe's features. I am use to unlinking the audio from the video tracks. I tried to find a solution in the help menu in vegas but no luck, and i figure you guys would be alot faster. So to sum it up how do you unlink/ unlock audio from video in Vegas?

Thanks,
oh yeah jrt is my dad, im the one that just went to LA to see the screening for The Clearing

Hi Big Stein. Your dad is JRT? Cool. So wouldnt that make you little Stein?

There is a button at the top that looks like 2 blue tracks offset with a little lock in the middle. This is:

IGNORE EVENT GROUPING

Click on it and you will be able to slide all of your tracks around as you wish. :)

Re: Unlinking Audio and Video

Click the on the audio track and hit the U key. This will ungroup it from the video.

My dad was right you guys are alot faster than the help button.. i appreciate it

:D

Hey David

I didint know about that shortcut. Question:

1. can this be done independently of each track and what shortcut will re-group it?

Re: Unlinking Audio and Video

This can be done with any clip -- the advantage is that you don't have ignore the grouping of EVERY clip by doing it that way.

The re-group -- highlight the clips you want to group and hit G. This works not only for video/audio sync, but any clips at all you want to group. It's unlimited. If you have more than two clips grouped, you can group/ungroup any one or any number of them.

Re: Unlinking Audio and Video

I didnt bring the DVX100. :o

I debated and debated and debated and said NO. Too much to carry around when I have a FOUR year old to corral and I also didnt want to just leave it in the ROOM when not in use.

In hindsight, after all of that damn walking (miles and miles) Im glad I didnt. Sides, Ive shot enough footage of "Nothing" that its time to make films.

Hey, John H.
Just watched your Music video on your website and it looked great. Did you use Bullet or anything to get that look?
