"Universal" Lav Clip or Backup Clip for OST 801

I use an OST (Oscar Sound Tech) 801 lav and the alligator clip they sold me with it is not the sturdiest piece of equipment. Does anyone have experience using a different type of clip with this mic?

Or, more generally, are there any "universal" lav clips that are reliable to carry around as backups and work with multiple types of lavs? I'd like to have a handful in my sound bag because if that little thing breaks at the wrong moment, things can get bad quickly.
 
Aside from Topstick, (my fav) surgical tape, or Stickies for hiding mics. A 'cable holder' type clip for lavalier mics are pretty much universal. Tram makes them.. others as well. Sorry, i don't have any specific links at the moment.
 
Thanks for the tip. I'm finding the Tram vampire cable holder clips but not any alligator clips, but I will keep hunting.
 
Interesting about the backing plate, but those cable holder clips look like good backup. Thanks for the guidance!
