Universal Control for Mac

Can someone computer-savvier than I am answer this question:

Will I be able to use Universal Control to control and monitor (both audio/video) my mac mini with my mbp while I'm in a separate room from the mini?

I believe both my devices are compatible with Universal Control

I currently use Remote Desktop (or whatever it's called) to control my mac mini with my MBP. But I don't get audio with the video feed and I never found a way to pipe the audio through in sync. (Massive shortcoming of the system imo.) I don't mind if there's a minor delay in the signal I'm receiving as long as picture and sound come through synced.

Right now, I have my M1 mini sitting in the corner like a bad boy, attached to ethernet and hard drives but not a monitor or mouse or keyboard. I use it as a download/upload device and render monkey, plus general backup machine. It would be cool if it became my full-time editing computer and my intel MBP were just a remote interface. Especially if I wanted to upgrade to an M1 Max, I assume that the mini version will be cheaper than the MBP version

not sure I can answer your question completely... but I remember when I upgraded to Monterey - the new features info had this about UC (and said coming this spring):

Available on MacBook Pro (2016 and later), MacBook (2016 and later), MacBook Air (2018 and later), iMac (2017 and later), iMac (5K Retina 27-inch, Late 2015), iMac Pro, Mac mini (2018 and later), and Mac Pro (2019); and iPad Pro, iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad (6th generation and later), and iPad mini (5th generation and later). Both devices must be signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID using two-factor authentication. To use wirelessly, both devices must have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Handoff turned on and must be within 10 meters (30 feet) of each other. iPad and Mac must not be sharing a cellular and internet connection. To use over USB, you must trust your Mac on the iPad.
