I've been helping a musician friend of mine to mic a didgeredoo to be heard against djembe drums in live performance. I've been micing her with a Shure SM57 but then she tells me she wants to be free to move around. So I say...Ok...then you'll have to go wireless and maybe dangle a lav mic at the end of the didge. So she goes out and buys a Samson Wireless setup for wind instruments....a unidirectional condensor mic. Cool...works great and the best part is that the transmitter is built into the mic. We test it out and it sounds great. So I take it off to see how it does with vocals and I'm blown away. You have to have this mic facing right at the sound source or you hear nothing. I did the count around and it picks up no side or back noise at all.....none.....notta.....nothing!
So what mic do you know of that doesn't pick up any side noise at all.
