plz help me out

Re: underwater sequence????

Having met, talked and worked with many underwater shooters, including most of the leading ones, over the years, my advise is to find someone with experience to do the underwater shots- it is a highly specialized whole new ball game, shooting a feature is not the place to learn the craft.

Sorry if that is not the answer you were seeking.

Re: underwater sequence????

One other thing- having done some diving and underwater video myself, If the sequences are simple, in a pool, or shallow water and the operator is an experienced diver (unless it is possible to shoot without scuba gear-as from the surface with the camera just submerged), video cameras do an excellent job without any additional lighting, you might get away with just getting a camera in a housing and "doing it" but I would recommend a test to make sure the results will be acceptable.

Beyond that, as I said, I strongly recommend getting assistance from an experienced underwater shooter.

Good Luck

Re: underwater sequence????

I had a scene where i wanted to get the lead falling into the pool after getting shot, from under water. I had no money. So i bought a big plastic tub that you would hold drinks in. I cut out the bottom and glued in plexi glass. Checked for leaks, then put the camera in and got in the pull. Shot at night with the pool lights on and it looked GREAT! Maybe this helps...

Re: underwater sequence????

A few tips if you do it yourself:

Get a real underwater housing. One leak and your DVX is toast.

Practice in a pool. Practice some more.

It's hard to get the bouyancy right, so give yourself extra extra time before the first shot.

The clearer the water the better. Good luck finding clear water in a lake/river/beach.

Are you certified to dive? How long can you hold your breath? Do you sink or float? It's hard to push yourself and the camera down at the same time.

Give yourself extra extra time.

Good luck.
