Underlining Text in FCP

Hey everyone,

Was wondering if there's a way to underline part of the text in a text object created in FCP? I have the sentence, "Communication isn't his strongsuit," and I want to underline the "his" section of the word for emphasis. Any ideas? There's gotta be a way to do this in FCP without going to motion or livetype (which I don't have). It's kind of an emergency so the quicker the better. Thanks!

Yeah...use TITLE 3D...in the BORIS area. So don't use the FCP Title tool, which SUCKS. Use the BORIS>TITLE 3D one. You can do MUCH more with that.

Well, actually, underlining is bad form. It's a substitute for italics
when you're using a machine (like a manual typewriter) which
can't do proper italics. I think a quick and dirty fix would be to
make two titles, one of them in the italic version of your font,
just for the word "his".

You can do this even in that awful FCP text editor,
then layer the two titles.

Now I'll go back to correcting Masters Theses,
Les

Well, that plugin won't help if you don't have BORIS.

So you click on the A in the Viewer, and you don't see a BORIS option? TIme to reinstall FCP. Just install it again, don't trash anything first. That's how it works for many.

I agree with Les. Underlining - no bueno.
Do you have Photoshop? Lay it out in PS and be done with it.
