Undergraduate vs. Graduate

Whaaaaaaa? How do you figure that? I am currently in the process of applying to grad schools, and I would have to say I am seeing the complete opposite here. As an undergrad I got off pretty scott free as far as loans, you just have to know where to look for grants and such. Now on the road to my MFA, I am finding that many of these grants no longer apply, and 60Gs for 3 years of school is a little steep, but I think completely worth it. What schools are you looking at?

I'm with Sharky on this one. Graduate school has cost me a BUNDLE. Granted, I went to a state school for my undergrad, but I believe tuition fees are more for grad studies where I am.

I work for a university and our grad programs are more expensive and our undergrad on a per credit hour basis, but for the total cost of the degree undergrads are more expensive because they are 120 credit hours whereas graduate are 39-45.

Most grad schools offer assistantships which can help offset some of your cost. You usually end up teaching a lab or something similar. There's a book you might find useful "How to Get Into Grad School Without Really Lying". Pretty entertaining read.

A lot of grad schools in the sciences pay you to go.

We professional school types have to pay through the nose.
