Uncompressed HD Transfer

I figured I'd post this here.. lots more traffic... feel free to move it if necessary.

Anywho; I have two 800 ft rolls of Super 16 negative that will be transferred to a 1080p 10bit uncompressed set of QuickTime files in a transfer I am getting done this coming week.

I am planning on buying this drive:
LaCie Drive

To store the footage. My question is, is this drive enough to handle 44min of uncompressed footage?

I haven't been able to find a exact data rate for 10Bit - 4:2:2 Uncompressed 1080p @ 24fps.

my assumption is that this is plenty of space. From what I've read, it is roughly 550GB per hour of footage. Or 667GB per hour for 4:4:4 footage.

But any insight into this would be great.

peas.

You could create a test file... I would do this but my machine is locked up for the next couple of hours in an edit. Just take any source and upres it to your specs in an export - make it one minute long. Then take the resulting file size and multiply by 44 and you should have a very accurate estimate.

huh you mean high data streaming files i think ,technicaly theres no uncompressed film format ,qoute me not!!
but storing aND EDITTING can take a load of storage equipment , you can store almost anything anywhere , but play back and editting requires raid configuration
not mirror i think its raid 5 or ten .
if you can afford the raid solution for edditting its most recomended by all nle's
depending on your transfer of film options you can get 400 mbs for film an up
4 x hd 100 ! if you can afford it!!
and google your hard drive choices seek out the most problematic gear and iliminate them from use!!

raid configuration i whould sudjest it for play back and editting, i use single drive for dvx shoots like 25 megs /sec i think
and sata 300 hundred drives pc on board !and sata 3g for tempary scratch
look into it and post your results i have yet to shoot a film for transfer but have my hands full film products ,soem old school 16 mills around ! i dolike film
pleaase post what you do!! im looking into 16 mill shoots with my freind and very interested in its turn out!!
