Hi everyone,
I have been googling like a madman and still haven't found an answer for my situation.
Here it is:
At work we offlined a short using a 10-bit uncompressed quicktime at standard def (encoded with blackmagic). This had embedded timecode. This offline was completed, the EDL is being sent to the transfer house where they will retransfer the footage at 1080p, 24fps (this is all coming from 35mm film).
We need to get this quicktime back into Final Cut so we can conform it with an XML and send it to the Smoke for onlining. I know Final Cut does XDCam, HDV, DVCPROHD, etc., and that it can do Kono, AJA, Blackmagic etc. uncompressed HD if you have the computer to handle that, but how should I set my project once I get the HD footage back at 10-bit uncompressed 1080p 24fps? We are running Final Cut 5.1.4 or whatever the latest is before the upgrade to Final Cut 6, but I can't find any suitable preset etc. Thank you so much!
