uncompresed format?

hi there all,

i was playing around with editing software, and special effects software (requiring me to use multiple programs) and on uncompressed settings the exported video is of noticibly less quality.

i have access to Vegas 6.0, and premiere 6.5 and i was wondering if there was a setting i missed that would allow me to cut the video and then export it with relatively the same quality in which i captured it.

it is probably a relatively simple preset, or something stupid on my part, but i have always had difficulties exporting.

thanks,
-brad

AVI is a wrapper. The actual codec such as DV determines the type of compression.
If you export as truly uncompressed then it shoudl look as good as the original. It can be that at uncompressed is difficult to play in realtiem so you system may not show it full quality at speed.

If you are going through multiple programs it is better to be uncompressed. If it's compressed, such as DV format then it will be re-compressed each time it's output through another program if you've changed the image.
