Unable to disconnect SKP 100 G2 from bottom of PSC boom pole

My boom op decided to attach our transmitter to the bottom of the boom pole (instead of the back of the shotgun mic) to make it wireless. Of course we now can't get it off.

I think it's because the transmitter is "clicked" in the XLR male on the bottom of the boom pole and there's no release switch on the transmitter to disconnect it.

Any tips? Thanks

There's no switch but there is a collar that you unscrew at the base of the skp that should detache it.

Yes just unscrew it that happened the other day. A guy did that on set and I told him it needs to be plugged into the boom mic or either have an XLR cable in between if you want to plug it elsewhere. I hope all works out.

Boom op mounted it where it belongs.... on the bottom of the pole.

Yeah but sometimes they do get stuck. I connect straight to shotgun when using a Gitzo Pole with no internal cable. They sometimes get stuck to the boom mic as well. Just turn it and you should be fine.

BRH,

Curious why you think the end of the pole is better than on the mic? A couple of mixers I know put it on the end of the mic because it puts it a bit higher in the air, especially between takes.

Thanks!

Weight.
That little transmitter weight starts mutiplying very quickly on the end of a long pole.
Putting the transmitter behind you (on the bottom of the pole) actually helps
counterweight the entire pole a little.

Absolutely, weight.
