Ummmm... DivX removal?

I've already uninstalled the program using the control panel, but PC users are telling me the effects of a bad DivX codec package can be far reaching.

So is there a tool to remove the traces of DivX AKA Spawn of Satan?

Reformatting isn't really an option, because I got into iTunes and I don't want to risk losing 300 itunes purchased songs.
 
What "bad" stuff have you heard about DivX? Ive used it for years without ever a problem. It's one of the better codecs out there for video to web.
 
Whoa, take it easy there. Reformatting just to get rid of DivX. Come on now, that's plain ridiculous. I've used DivX as well and it doesn't affect anything on my PC. There are a lot of users that THINK it's the DivX codecs that are messing things up, but unless you, yourself have had problems with it, I would just leave it.

I was told I needed a certain installer from a certain site. More often than not, the codecs were bundled with malicious software.
 
Sounds like you're thinking of Real Media which comes bundled with spyware. Once you install it it's like an STD for your pc. Don't do it. :zombie_smiley:
