Ultraviolet

Well, at the risk of getting reamed with contrary opinions, I have to say that this was painful to watch (even if you think Milla is a hottie): the FX were sloppy, the acting was worse, and the story.. well I didn't expect Bergman, but.... anyway, that's my two cents.

Does anyone know if this was shot digital?

After watching this I'm even more impressed with the DVXUSER sci-fest entries!

When I saw the trailer I KNEW I'd have no interest in seeing it. I saw Equilibrium and liked it enough to buy the DVD. But I'm not sure it stands up to multiple viewings for me. I remember wondering if it was Michael Bay when I first saw it. If that makes any sense at all. Ultraviolet just didn't look like something I wanted to see. After your review I'M SURE OF IT!! Thanx.

Yeah, not so good.

Save yourself the moola and just view the trailer... you don't get much more than that.

I've thought it was shot HD since I first saw the trailer. If it was HD I wonder if they softened the image in camera, cuz some of the shots were wayyy too soft.

I am disappointed in this film, disappointed in Wimmer. All he did was go to the well. He rehashed Equilibreum's action almost to a T. The action went far beyond repetitive. The motorcycle scene looked just a little too fake and came across as rather silly.

I hope I can make up for this dud with Night Watch and 16 Blocks. One of those better be good!!

Yup, a lot of the shots were softened to an almost silly proportion, particularly on Milla's face, then other times you could see all the pores and pimples on almost all the actors, including Milla.. it was really inconsistent and extremely unflattering (we see the truth with HD, it musy have been HD). Did you see the ending FX, they must have ran out of time and money because they were truly amateurish.

ok, and to make matters worse the movie reminded me of an extended version of the Britney Spears video, TOXIC, which I actually thought was clever and kinda funny, but I didn't pay to see it nor did I have to watch it for 90 minutes. This would have been good if they approached it as a comedy.

yea i saw night watch a long time ago. its sequel just came out in russia. DAY WATCH broke records. so im waiting for that.

I saw Ultraviolet last night. What a piece of poo poo! It looked horrible. The story was horrible. The acting was horrible. Can we end Camerons Bright's career now? How many more movies can he make as the "creepy kid"? I have to say there is nothing redeeming about this film. Very much a waste of my time and money. I need a stiff drink just to watch the taste out.

The worst thing about this film is now some people are going to think since this was shot in HD and looked like crap, HD is crap. I know that most if not all the people here know better. But if the general movie going public is told that its HD, they might have a bad taste in their mouths for future HD films. But of course they could also be told that "Sin City" was shot in HD and that film looked awesome. But "Ultraviolet" was one of the worst films I've seen in the last four years.

It's almost like I want to see it to see how bad it really is? kinda like subjecting myself to Battlefield Earth all over again.
