so ive made some tests and calculations ...
used guides: H.264 for the rest of us / vimeo exporting guides
ive come up with these presets for europe HF100 workflow:
Lowsize Preview - 720p 25fps / H.264 mp4 / Main 3.1 / VBR target 1 - max 2 / AAC 48Hz Mono 64
Vimeo/Youtube - 720p 25fps / H.264 mp4 / Main 3.1 / VBR target 4 - max 8 / AAC 48Hz Stereo 192
AVCHD Backup - 1080i 25fps / H.264 mp4 / High 4.1 / VBR target 18 - max 50 / AAC 48Hz Stereo 256
and here are results ... just zoom to left upper corner and switch between browser tabs ... all encoded with Adobe Media Encoder, H264, mp4, VBR (target-max)
720p Internet TEST:
480p 1-2 (resized) / 720p 1-2 / 720p 4-8 / 720p 5-10
AVCHD fulll quality backup TEST:
original footage HF100 1080i AVCHD 17Mbps / 1080i h264 18-50 / 1080p h264 18-50
as you can see, bitrate is same but even on 100% zoom theres easily visible that original has much more noise and information in it, any advices onto this ?
even size of the PNG files are self-speaking - original (1,89), renders (1,48 and 1,56) .... is this effect of reencoding and so impossible to fight with ?
i tried even mainconcept reference AVCHD 20Mbps preset and h264 mp4 18to50 .. but it looks all prety much same, worse than original
