UK Importers - Research on how to get lighting gear imported and distributed

Hi there!

Looking for a bit of advice or expertise. Does anyone know of/ how to go about researching decent and legit importers here in the UK? I'm doing some research and wanted to know what businesses and equipment manufacturers use to ship the gear they produce, into the UK.

Any help or pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. If this is the wrong topic then would a moderator kindly redirect.

If you are looking for someone to clear customs, then you need a customs broker. It's just a matter of finding one that is of the size that matches your needs. If this is a one-time deal, then there are brokers for that and if you are starting a business, maybe a smaller broker is what you need. I don't think you should have any trouble looking up a broker and check their ratings and make a selection from there.

You can act as the importer. Contact a broker. Tell them what you are importing and ask them what they need. Then once you understand their process, contact your exporter, make the deal, give the exporter your broker's information and sit back and relax.
