Most likely an easy question and Ill feel like an ass.......

Buying a wireless laviler system for a scene with multiple dynamic cam shots, If Im gonna get a wireless system, I would like one that is the best quality, and has a good, lengthy signal.

What are the differneces between VHF systems and UHF (so I will have the knowledge) and which is the best for laviler work.

Thanks for any input

VHF = cheap & lousy
UHF = better
UHF diversity = two UHF tuners, designed to help minimize dropouts etc.

Now, with that said, keep in mind that there are other factors. A Lectrosonics VHF system would beat the pants off an Azden UHF system, so be sure to compare apples to apples. But all the top-of-the-line stuff is UHF.

You also have to consider frequency bands -- UHF transmitters/receivers are usually available in more than one version, occupying a different portion of the frequency band. Some may be better for your area than others, depending on what UHF television channels are broadcasting in your area.
